Clara Mae Lightfoot Flowers,  age 86, of Big Sandy, Tenn. formerly of Decherd,Tenn.  departed this life on Wed. Dec. 7, 2011 at the home of her daughter, Peggy Cook following an extended illness.  She was born in Estill Springs to the late Arthur and Rhoda Lightfoot.  She was employed for many years as a nurses aide.  Ms. Flowers was of the Church of God faith.  She was the mother of twelve children including one set of twin boys.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Mason Caldwell, her husband of 55 years, Richard Flowers, seven children and one brother, J.T. Lightfoot.

She is survived by her daughters; Margaret Pier of Decherd and Peggy Cook of Big Sandy, Tenn., sons; Lester Flowers of Arkansas, Larry Flowers of Gallatin, Tenn. and Billy Flowers of Tullahoma, half-brother, Walter Caldwell of Decherd and a half-sister, Martha Powers of Winchester.  17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Visitation for Ms. Flowers will be from 5:00-9:00 P.M. Friday evening in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.  Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M.Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 with Bishop Jeffery McKee and Mark Bassett, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Elora Cemtery, Elora, Tenn.
