Donald “Duck” Eugene Vickers, age 67, of Manchester, departed this life on Dec. 20, 2010 following an extended illness at Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. Mr. Vickers was a Navy Veteran. He was employed for thirty years as an ironworker in the commercial construction business. He was also a truck driver for many years. Mr. Vickers is a member of the Boynton Valley Baptist Church.
Mr. Vickers was preceded in death by his parents; Louis and Flora Vickers and a son, James Vickers. He is survived by his daughters; Stephanie Workman of Tullahoma and Jessica Vickers of Murfreesboro, TN. Sons; Dillard Vickers of Charleston, SC and Justin Vickers of Atlanta, GA. Sisters; Geneva (Buck) Greene of Manchester, Bobbie Sue Alford of Manchester and Debbie Driver of Tullahoma. Grandchildren; Cody Ogden, Josie Workman, Austin, Dakota, Shelby and Dillon Vickers.
Visitation for Mr. Vickers is from 12:00-1:30 Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 with the service time at 1:30 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Earl Cairns officiating. Interment will be in Blanton’s Chapel Cemetery in Manchester with Military honors bestowed.
