James Howard Bishop, age 79, of Huntland, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Southern TN Medical Center in Winchester, Tenn. following a brief battle with cancer.  Mr. Bishop was a self-employed owner of his own Trucking Company before retirement.  He was a member of the Huntland United Methodist Church.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Bishop was an avid musician and loved to laugh and make people laugh. He enjoyed people and life to the fullest. 

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Bishop of Huntland, son, James A. (Teri) Bishop of California, sister, Nancy (Frank) Morris and  step-sister, Martha Burbage all of Huntland, step- brothers; Bobby Steele of Indiana, James Steele of Atlanta, Ga. 10 Grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  

Visitation with the family is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday evening Sept. 17 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 P.M. with Bro. Chris Haynes, officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the Huntland United Methodist Church by contacting Grant Funeral Services.
