Joe Turner, age 80, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life at his residence on Monday, March 14, 2011.  He was born in Neely, Miss. to the late William S. and Annie W. Turner.  He received his masters in botany from Mississippi College.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was employed in Retail Management for W.T. Grants and Wal-mart, as well as, a business owner for several years in Hattiesburg, Miss.  He was a member of the Winchester First Baptist Church and an Ordained Deacon. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Wayne and Bill Turner and sisters; Irene Prince and Lanelle Madeiros.  He is survived by his wife, Jean Nelson Turner of Winchester, Tenn., Two sisters; Ann Williams of Hattiesburg, and Jackie Aversa of Jersey City, N.J.

Services for Mr. Turner are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Enon Baptist Church in Cullman, Ala. with Pastor, Rick Roberts of First Baptist Church of Winchester, Tenn. , officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 at Enon Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to one of the following of your choice:  Enon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Winchester First Baptist Church Building Fund, or Home Health Care of East Tennessee & Hospice.  Addresses are as follows:  Enon Baptist Church, 8001 County Road 1435, Vinemont, AL  35179, Winchester First Baptist Church, 108 S.
