Norman Walter Troy, age 86, of Cowan, Tenn. departed this life on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma after a brief illness.  Mr. Troy was a member of the Winchester First United Methodist Church.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII in the 10th Mountain Division.  He was a member of the American Legion.  Mr. Troy was retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan where he was employed for almost 35 years as a machine repairman. 

Mr. Troy is survived by  his wife, of  65 years, Louise Troy of Cowan.  Son, Ronald (Connie) Troy of Ortonville, Michigan, Daughter, Becky (Raymond) Council of Cowan.  Brother, Robert (Ann) Troy of North Carolina.  Grandchildren; Jeff (Stacy) Troy of Waterford, Mich., Michelle (Michael) Dasher of Clarkston, Mich. Troy (Stephanie) Council and Mark (Tonya) Council all of Cowan.  Great-grandchildren, Katlyn Council, Cameron Troy, Kylie Dasher, Lannie Troy, and Troy Dasher. 

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery with Bro. J.D. Spencer officiating.  Military honors will be bestowed.  In Lieu of Flowers the family request memorial donations to the Wesley Preschool at the Winchester First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 427, Winchester, TN  37398.
