Pete Newman Sanders, age 67, of Sewanee departed this life on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Emerald-Hodgson Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Sanders was a residential carpenter for almost forty years. He loved animals and loved trading things.

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; Leonard and Carrie Sanders. He is survived by his wife, Jo Sanders of Sewanee. Daughters; Joyce (Wesley) Jackson, Carolyn Childres all of Winchester. Milesa DeLoose of Enterprise, AL. Sons; Chris (Jennifer) Sanders of Winchester and Shawn (Brenda) Stubblefield of Manchester. Brother, Hershell Sanders of Tracy City. Sisters; Eda (Arnold) Morrison of Tracy City , Pam (Junior) Curtis of Whitwell, TN and Sue Sanders of Monteagle. Grandchildren; Kristen Sanders and Wesley Jackson. A host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Sanders are 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Payne’s Cove Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. James Smith and Bro. Robert Johnson officiating. Mr. Sanders will lie in state at the Church on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Multi-County Cancer Support Network, Box 225, Winchester, TN 37398
