William Somoya, age 65, of Estill Springs, TN, departed this life on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Somoya was born in Canada to Hungarian parents, Joe and Elizabeth Siptock Somoya who moved to Canada before William was born. They later relocated to Las Vegas, NE. Because of his parents ability to speak several different languages Mr. Somoya was very fluent in many different languages. He served two terms in the Army and was in Special Forces in Vietnam. After leaving the service he was recruited by the CIA due to his ability to speak many languages.
Mr. Somoya was self-employed in the field of masonry for almost forty years. Mr. Somoya was diabled for the last few years of his life due to becoming exposed to Agent Orange while serving his country in Vietnam.
Mr. Somoya is survived by his wife, Sally Somoya of Estill Springs, TN. Brother, John Somoya of Alberta, Canada. Two nephews and one niece. It was Mr. Somoya’s request that he be cremated. There are no services scheduled at this time.
